Faith!

Mark 9:23 says, Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. One of the things I've been thinking on lately is faith and stepping out on it. I've been asking myself, with the different strengths I have, how can God best use me? Even with my weaknesses, the bible says that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in my weakness. If that is true, then that means even in my weak moments I can still step out in faith and watch God move.

One area I've been thinking on is being content while being single. One day, I'd like to be married. But, in the midst of this current season, there's a lot that needs to be done. Lord-willing, there are friendships to build, poems to write, pictures to take, days to take off,  sweet teas to drink, lessons to learn, ham sammiches to eat and chances to grow.  Business-wise, I'm actively seeking knowledge to arm myself to step out in God-given opportunity. In the midst of disappointment, I'm seeking to learn from it and keep moving forward. In regards to self-improvement, I'm learning to trust and thank God that He can use me despite my flaws; that He'll correct and help mold me through them.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. That is a scripture that still gets me; faith is moving in what is not seen. For an analyzer such as myself, that can be a tall order. What does that look like to you? What would it take for you to step out in faith? What decisions are you in the process of making that will effect not only your current situation, but the future? Where do you see God leading you? Yes, every detail in life cannot be planned; but, you can ask yourself are the decisions that you're making setting you up for where God is leading you. Do you really believe that all things are possible?

God has created you with talents, ideas, thoughts, feelings, strength. Even in the midst of dire situations where all seems lost, you can rise from the ashes with God's help.

Excited

Just got done posting another poem, which is exciting. In the past couple of weeks, I've written more short stories than I have in the past couple of years probably. I've gotten to the point where I'm not so concerned about it being perfect, but I have a need to get some stuff out. That's when the fun happens, when you witness writings being birthed right before you.

I want to encourage someone, don't give up on your dreams. With so much going on in the world, it can be easy to want to give up. Even if you have, it's not too late to get it back. Never give up. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Believe, even when you don't see it. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

A few thoughts from today

At the office today, I was reading an email and the thought came to me about how we're constantly evolving. Here's what I wrote down more or less:

'The future is incredibly open-ended. We are continously marching forward. With the books of Revelation and Daniel in the Bible, we only get a snapshot of who we are and where we're going. You are ever-evolving one way or another.'

The only question is, which way are you going?

With each experience, with each passing day, you are going further. You can change, you can grow, you can laugh, you can smile, or you can go further into a mire. Romans 8:28 comes to mind. All things work together to the good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. All things. The good as well as the bad can help you grow, to quote Marvin Sapp, wiser..stronger...better. Yes!!!

As my dad has said to me many times, it's about choices. The power of choice is an awesome thing. What choices will you make today? Are they going to help you get closer to your goals? What are your goals? That's something I'm thinking about as well. Where am I vs. where do I want to be...

Sometimes, it's as simple as making the conscious choice to take it easy instead of stressing; chill with ice cream in bed and just listen to music. With that said, making the choice to do 'nothing' isn't easy. But, again, it comes down to choice.

Something else I've been thinking on is the fact that x+y doesn't always equal z. You can't analyze everything. You have to be willing to jump out in faith.

Faith, that all things will work together to your good. Faith that you can grow stronger despite mistakes. Faith that you are getting wiser. Faith that you can love stronger. Faith that your present now is only a set-up to a greater future.

Something I'm beginning to realize more and more is, I need to get out of the way. I have to allow God to do the greater in me, and stop allowing 'me' to get in the way.

When I'm fearful or anxious, I need to identify it for what it is: false evidence appearing real. When I want to latch on, I need to let go and watch God work. When I release my praise, my fears, failures and doubts to Him and release my trust, it is then that He will allow me to see that much more of Him through my dreams, relationships and most importantly, my relationship with Him.

But, first, I need to get out the way, and let Him do it. It's all a part of His molding me, even though it doesn't always feel good or secure. But, that's the exciting thing; the fact that it is outside of my control. When I let go and let God, I can trust that He's doing something greater than I can hope or imagine for.

Let Go and Praise!

Let Go and Praise!

II Chronicles 20

Praise the Lord, everyone. I pray that you’re all doing well and that the strength, peace and grace of God is encompassed about you. That you’re having a great day in Jesus name! Something the Lord deposited in my spirit strongly today is the power of praise. The fact that no matter what you’re facing, that you are more than a conqueror. The fact that battle is not yours, but the Lord’s. If we put it all in His hands, then we have nothing to worry about. We must focus on the fact that God has it all in control. Even if circumstances look bad, satan’s job is to distract you any way that he can. But, if we relax and know that God has it, then no matter the trial or circumstance, the testimony is assured.

In the midst of it all, the Lord will shift you to your victory! If we look at II Chronicles 20:15-30, the Lord set up the victory even before Judah had to lay a finger. Let the presence of God be your strength and confidence. Celebrate the move of God in your life today. Celebrate the fact that you are a child of the living God, and that you shall come forth as pure gold. Celebrate that the Lord is setting you up to be blessed in ways you can’t even imagine; exceeding abundantly. Celebrate God for who He is and know who you are in Christ; a living, breathing testimony to His greatness and creativity. Celebrate your new day and breakthrough. It’s my prayer today that you allow the power and peace of God as described in II Chronicles 20:30 to rest in your heart, mind and spirit. That the love of God encompasses around you. Celebrate your new day and your victory in Jesus name! Rest in the peace of God and know that He has it all in control and stay blessed.

Hey everyone, glad you could make it to the new blog. Today was a great day, just a day where I just rested in God and enjoyed a beautiful and productive day. Lately, I've tried to just trust God that much more. I've found that when you make the choice to be happy, that's when you can be content. Even when everything isn't exactly as you'd want, when you can rest in the power of God and know that He has it all in control, then it's all good! The bible says that all things work together to the good for those who love the Lord.

As we allow God to work in our lives, that's when He'll show up and do things that we couldn't ask, think or even imagine. But, it all starts with allowing Him to do it. When we ask for the Lord to have His way, He'll show up in a way not thought possible, just in time. I pray that you have a great day, and know that God has a great plan for you for you to prosper, and have life more abundantly. If you're feeling under the weather, know that by His stripes you are healed. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. I pray your continued strength in the Lord.
